The ASL Studio Classes are designed to be informative, educational, and fun. Caregivers, educators, parents, and children can build their language and motor skills by learning American Sign Language through interactive teaching. Upon completion of the six week course, parents and caregivers will have acquired the basic techniques and signs to continue to teach their children at home. All The ASL Studio Classes are an hour in length, unless otherwise stated. At the end of each class, each participant will receive a certificate of completion.
Mommy and Me Classes (0-9 months)
This class is designed for Mom's and their babies from ages 0-10 months. Mom's will learn basic signs and songs to interact and bond with their infants. In this course mom's will get to meet and interact with other mom's that have the same goal in mind, to learn, teach, and bond with their children. The goal of this course is to understand what your infant needs, and to begin teaching him/her the basic vocabulary necessary to begin signing back to mom and dad between the ages of 6-10 months. The following Vocabulary will be introduced: Feeding time, Changing time, Play time, Bedtime, and Feelings. Babies are encouraged to attend.

This class is designed for Mom's and their babies. Mom's will learn basic signs and songs to interact and bond with their infants. In this course mom's will get to meet and interact with other mom's that have the same goal in mind, to learn, teach, and bond with their children. The goal of this course is to understand what your baby needs, and to begin teaching him/her the basic vocabulary necessary to begin signing back to mom and dad between the ages of 6-10 months. The following Vocabulary will be introduced: Feeding time, Changing time, Play time, Bedtime, and Feelings. Babies are encouraged to attend.
Eat, Play, Sing, and Sign Classes
(Use your Five Senses: Smell, Taste, Touch, See, and Hear) – 16 months+
This class is designed for parents/caregivers and their children. Utilizing all the senses are a great way to learn and teach children about the world around them. Children will explore their sense of taste and smell through nutritional snacks provided by the instructor while learning the signs for each food they taste. Children will use their sense of touch and hearing by playing games, dancing to music, reading textured books, and touching various props such as stuffed animals and artificial food to learn new ASL vocabulary. Children will use their sense of sight to learn the new signs introduced to them.
Please note (Fruits, Vegetables, crackers, and cheese will be served during this class to help teach different food signs. Please notify the instructor of any known food allergies prior to class and accommodations will be made.
Please stop whining; Let's start Signing (Ages 2-4)
This class is designed to teach parents, caregivers, and educators how to minimize frustrations and temper-tantrums by developing behavioral techniques and American Sign Language skills. This class will focus on parent/caregiver and child communication and introduce vocabulary that will minimize temper-tantrums. This class will also include signing and songs. The following vocabulary will be introduced: Feelings, Play time, Food, and Safety Signs.
Signing for the able
This class is designed for individuals of all ages regardless of abilities. Caregivers and parents of children with Autism, Down syndrome, learning disabilities, speech delays, Deafness, and ADHD are encouraged to attend this informative class. The following vocabulary will be introduced: Feelings, Play time, Food, Basic numbers, Bathroom, and Safety Signs. All children deserve to be heard, give your child a sign today.
The ASL Studio Level I
Level I is designed for the beginner signer. The following Vocabulary will be introduced: Basic Food Signs, Basic Family Signs, Basic Feeling Signs, Basic Bedtime Signs, Basic Animal Signs, and Basic Manner signs. This course will provide the necessary signs to communicate on a basic level with your infant or child. Children must be a minimum of 5 years old to enroll this class.
The ASL Studio Level II
Level II is designed for the intermediate signer. In this course students will review, increase, and improve on vocabulary and signing techniques learned from level I. The Following Vocabulary will be introduced: Opposite signs, Basic number signs 1-10, ABC Alphabet, Continuation of Animal Signs, The 5 "W" signs, Color Signs, and additional Feelings signs. Completion of Level I must be achieved prior to enrollment.
The ASL Studio Level III
Level III is designed for the advanced signer. In this course students will be introduced to more complex signs, and focus on receptive and expressive skills. The following Vocabulary will be introduced: Advanced Finger-spelling of numbers and the ABC Alphabet, Days of the Week, Time, Weather, Manners, Directional Verbs, and Furniture signs. Completion of Level II must be achieved prior to enrollment.
Parent/ Teacher Workshop
This workshop is designed to be fun, informative, and interactive. During this workshop parents/teachers will be introduced to the benefits teaching American sign language to children. Participants will learn basic signs in order to teach children. Participants will learn approximately 50+ signs during the workshop through fun activities, songs, and interaction to help retain the signs learn. Handouts will be provided.
